Work Related Injuries
Immediate Care for On-the-Job Injuries
Walk-in treatment for workplace injuries with employer billing available at Family First Urgent Care.
When you twist your ankle on a ladder, cut your hand on equipment, or strain your back lifting heavy materials at work, getting treated right away keeps the injury from getting worse and documents what happened for your employer. Family First Urgent Care treats work-related injuries on a walk-in basis and works directly with employers and workers' compensation carriers to handle billing and required paperwork.
You can come in during or after your shift for treatment that includes wound care, splinting, pain management, X-rays, and medical clearance to return to work. We complete the injury report your employer needs and provide work status notes that specify any restrictions like no lifting over 20 pounds or no overhead reaching until your follow-up visit.
If you were injured on the job today and need medical attention before going back to work, Family First Urgent Care can treat the injury and provide the documentation your employer requires.

What to Expect During Your Visit
When you check in, you explain how the injury happened and provide your employer's contact information. The provider examines the injured area, cleans and dresses wounds, orders X-rays if a fracture is suspected, and applies splints or braces if needed. If you are dealing with a sprain, strain, or overuse injury, you may receive ice packs, anti-inflammatory medication, and instructions for rest and elevation.
Once treatment is complete, you receive a work status form that tells your employer whether you can return to full duty, modified duty with restrictions, or if you need time off to heal. You also get a copy of the injury report and instructions for follow-up care if additional visits are necessary.
We do not provide long-term rehabilitation or surgical treatment, but we refer you to specialists if your injury requires advanced care. Treatment is billed to your employer or their workers' compensation carrier, so you typically do not pay out of pocket.
What people ask before coming in
Here are the most common questions we receive from employees injured on the job who need quick medical attention.
What types of work injuries do you treat?
We treat cuts, burns, sprains, strains, fractures, back injuries, eye injuries, chemical exposures, and repetitive stress injuries like carpal tunnel syndrome. If you have a life-threatening injury, go to the emergency room first.
Do I need to bring anything from my employer?
Bring your employer's name, address, and phone number, along with any injury report forms they gave you. If your employer has a preferred workers' compensation carrier, let us know at check-in so we can bill correctly.
How long does a work injury visit take?
Most visits take 30 to 60 minutes depending on the injury. This includes the exam, treatment, X-rays if needed, and completion of paperwork for your employer and insurance carrier.
Will I be able to return to work right away?
That depends on the severity of your injury. Minor injuries like small cuts or mild sprains may allow you to return to work the same day, while fractures or severe strains may require time off or modified duty until you heal.
Why is it important to get treated right away?
Prompt treatment reduces the risk of complications, provides legal documentation of the injury, and ensures your workers' compensation claim is filed correctly. Delaying care can make injuries worse and complicate your claim.
If you were hurt at work and need medical care that includes injury documentation and return-to-work clearance, Family First Urgent Care can treat you on a walk-in basis and handle all required paperwork with your employer.
